Results:

The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's lacrosse team produced their second straight shutout with a 19-0 Skyline Conference win over SUNY Purchase on Friday afternoon.

Top performers:

• Junior Brooke Zecchini led the Golden Eagles with six points on two goals and four assists while adding a game-best five ground balls 

• Senior Jamie Trowbridge finished with a pair of goals with three assists, four draw controls, and three ground balls

• Senior Emma Lange tallied two goals and two assists with four ground balls, two draw controls, and two caused turnovers

• Senior Melissa Newman netted a game-best three goals and two ground balls

• Gianna D'Arienzo and Kayla Sodano each recorded two goals and an assist

• Freshman goalkeeper Maggie Harding earned the second shutout of her career 

• Purchase Alyssa Kozak got off two shots for the Panthers 

How it happened:

• St. Joseph's started the scoring almost immediately when Amanda Gennardo found the back of the net just 25 seconds into play. It took a little over eight minutes for the Golden Eagles to score again, but the visitors would pour it on and finish the first frame ahead 10-0

• Six different Golden Eagles tallied goals in the second quarter for a 16-0 lead going into halftime

• In the third quarter, SJLI would find the net two more times and the final goal of the game would come in the fourth 

Notes:

• St. Joseph's collected 25 groundballs with Purchase picking up 11

• SJLI put claimed 19 draw controls with Purchase winning just two

• St. Joseph's had a total of 39 shots while holding PC to three
