The St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's lacrosse team was topped by SUNY Oneonta, 16-6, at Danzi Stadium on Wednesday afternoon.

How it happened:

Oneonta scored first with a quick goal 47 seconds into play

Back-to-back goals from Ippollito following putting St. Joseph's ahead 2-1

Less than a minute later, the Red Dragon tied it up with a goal from Maggie Byrne and then regained the lead, 3-2, at the 8:52 mark

Kayleigh Mimnaugh dished to Sabrina Doyle with 4:41 left on the clock to even the score at three, but the visitors snuck one by SJLI goalkeeper Maggie Harding with four seconds left to take a 4-3 lead into the second frame

The second quarter saw just one goal scored, Oneonta's Ellie Downey found the back of the net with just under nine minutes left sending teams into halftime at 5-3

The visitors scored twice to open the third quarter before back-to-back goals from O'Mara kept the Golden Eagles within two, 7-5

The Red Dragons went on to outscore SJLI 4-1 for the remainder of the third widening the gap to 11-6

Oneonta went on to shut out the Golden Eagles 5-0 in the final quarter to secure the 16-6 win
