How it happened:

• The Wildcats were able to take control early in the game as they went on a 6-0 scoring run before Carere netted SJLI's first goal with just three minutes remaining in the quarter
• As the Golden Eagles entered the second quarter down 7-1, Carere again found the back of the net for the first goal of the quarter with just four minutes remaining in the half
• SUNY Poly answered back with two goals of their own to build on their lead before Reyes scored as time expired in the half as the Wildcats held on to a six-goal lead
• The Golden Eagles looked to cut into the Wildcat's lead early in the second half as Carere scored three goals, outscoring SUNY Poly 3-2 in the third quarter and entering the fourth quarter down 11-6
• Carere again found the back of the net for the first goal of the fourth quarter as St. Joseph's trailed by just four goals with 12 minutes remaining
• The Wildcats were able to keep SJLI off the scoreboard for the remainder of the game as SUNY Poly found the back of the net two more times to secure a 13-7 victory
