How it happened:

Manhattanville started the game with five unanswered goals before Trowbridge dished to Doyle midway through the first quarter

The Golden Eagles went on to outscore the Valiants 3-1 in the final eight minutes of the frame and trailed 6-4 going into the second

After the Valiants got a quick goal to start the second quarter, back-to-back goals from Trowbridge inched SJLI to within one, 7-6

Goals from O'Mara and Julianna Gentile closed out the half with the Golden Eagles holding a slight 8-7 lead

The teams traded goals throughout most of the third quarter until the Golden Eagles scored three times in the final four minutes to take a 15-11 lead into the final frame

Manhattanville scored first in the fourth, but Stolba quickly responded with a goal just over a minute later

Back-to-back goals from the Valiants put the hosts within two, 16-14, but Trowbridge scored her fifth goal with 2:31 on the clock providing a bit of breathing room, 17-14
