How it happened:

• The Mariners jumped out to a commanding lead early, scoring six unanswered goals in the opening frame, with Jablonowski netting three of the team's six
• SJLI opened the second quarter ending the scoring streak for USMMA, scoring the first two goals with Emma Lange and Gentile finding the back of the net
• Another St. Joseph's goal from Trowbridge at the 11-minute mark cut the Mariner's lead to just four as the rest of the half remained scoreless
• In the opening minutes of the second half, goals scored by Trowbridge and O'Mara brought the score to 7-5 in favor of USMMA before the Mariners outscored the Golden Eagles 6-2 for the rest of the quarter
• The Golden Eagles looked to mount a comeback as they scored the first three goals of the final quarter, cutting the lead to 13-10 with two minutes left of action
• A final goal scored by Sabrina Doyle in the final seconds of the game cut the lead to just two, but it was too late as USMMA secured the 13-11 victory
