How it happened:

• The Panthers scored the first goal of the game to take a 1-0 lead until Carere scored a man-up goal to tie the game at 1 apiece 
• Purchase scored with just 21 seconds left in the first quarter to break the stalemate; with just seconds left in the quarter, a faceoff win from Carere provided SJLI with a quick goal scored with four seconds remaining to tie the game at 2 
• The Golden Eagles pulled ahead in the second quarter, with Stubba finding the back of the net just four minutes into action, followed by Owneburg scooping up a ground ball and powering his way to the net to pull St. Joseph's ahead by two
• Just nine seconds later, an SJLI faceoff win led to Carere finding Nick Morales open to score, with Stubba netting one more in the quarter to bring the unanswered goal streak to four and take a 6-2 lead into the half
• As the Panthers scored the first two goals of the second half, a man-up opportunity allowed St. Joseph's to put another one in the goal on behalf of Carere
• Purchase cut the lead to just two goals (8-6) with 35 seconds to go in the third quarter, another faceoff win, and a quick offensive opportunity saw Stubba again finish off the pass from Carere to take a 9-6 lead heading into the final frame
• The Golden Eagles started off the final frame with Carere scoring the first goal to pull ahead by four just 51 seconds into the fourth quarter
• Purchase looked to tie the game up as they scored three unanswered goals to bring the game within one (10-9) with just under four minutes to go
• A Golden Eagle goal from Owenburg again pull SJLI ahead by two goals, and key saves down the stretch from Van Dusen secured the victory for St. Joseph's
