How it happened:

• Morales netted the first goal of the game before the Highlanders responded by out-scoring SJLI 6-1 through the next 13 minutes of play
• In the final two minutes of the first quarter, both teams traded one goal each, as the quarter came to an end with Cairn ahead 7-3
• As the second quarter got underway, St. Joseph's looked to cut into the Highlanders' lead, scoring the first two goals and trailing only by two (7-5) with 6:30 left in the half 
• Cairn responded with two goals as they held a 9-5 advantage with just two minutes until the end of the half, but a short-handed SJLI goal from Allen cut the deficit to just three (9-6) to end the half
• As the Highlanders scored the first goal of the second half, the Golden Eagles answered, out-scoring the opposition 5-0 for the remainder of the quarter as three different Golden Eagles found the back of the net in the quarter
• Henderson scored the first goal of the final quarter of the game, and it was enough to secure the victory as neither team found the back of the net for the remaining 12 minutes of play
