How it happened:

• The Mariners opened the game by scoring the first five goals in the first four minutes of play, with Barcus scoring two goals early
• Argueta put an end to the scoring run for the Golden Eagles as the defender converted a clear attempt for SJLI, taking it all the way for the goal
• USMMA answered, scoring another five goals as they held a 10-1 lead to end the first quarter
• The United States Merchant Marine Academy scored the first two goals of the second quarter, before Herrera found the back of the net off the pass from Argueta, as two more goals were scored for USMMA to end the half with a 14-2 advantage
• The Mariners held SJLI scoreless for a majority of the second half as they scored an additional three goals, before Brown netted one in the quarter for St. Joseph's with just three seconds remaining in the third quarter
