How it happened:

• The Golden Eagles would score the first goal of the game before the Dolphins answered back with two goals of their own, to take a 2-1 lead with 6:01 left in the first quarter
• SJLI would quickly reclaim the lead to end the first quarter, as Stolba, Doyle, and Lange all found the back of the net to take a 4-2 lead into the second quarter
• Emily Grace Passaro opened the scoring column in the second quarter with a goal just 28 seconds into play, before UMSV answered back seven minutes later to keep it a two-score game
• In the final two minutes of the first half, Doyle, Ippolito, and Lange all scored a goal to help the Golden Eagles build on their lead as they took a five-goal lead into halftime (8-3)
• St. Joseph's would open the second half with five unanswered goals in the first three minutes of play, to take a 10-goal lead before the Dolphins ended the scoring run at the 8:38 mark in the third quarter, to make the score 13-4
• Kayla Sodano scored on a man-up opportunity off the pass from Lange, as Doyle would find the back of the net again before the third quarter came to a close, as SJLI ended the quarter ahead 15-4
• UMSV would score the first goal in the final frame to cut the deficit to 10, before St. Joseph's scored four unanswered goals to end the game and capture the conference victory
