How it happened:

• St. Joseph's captured an early lead as they scored the first three goals of the game within the first ten minutes of play, before the Valiants put an end to the scoring run with a goal at the 6:34 mark
• SJLI collected two more goals to end the first quarter with Lange scoring her second of the game and Doyle finding the back of the net as they helped SJLI take a 5-1 advantage into the second quarter
• Gentile would continue the scoring run in the early minutes of the second quarter, scoring on a man-up opportunity before Manhattanville scored their second of the game on a free position opportunity 
• Over the next four minutes of play in the second quarter, the Golden Eagles would outscore the Valiants 5-0, to take a nine-goal lead (11-2) with just over eight minutes to go in the half
• Manhattanville would score two more goals to end the half, holding St. Joseph's to just one more as the first half came to a close with SJLI ahead by eight (12-4)
• As the Valiants opened the second half with the first goal, the Golden Eagles would score six straight unanswered goals to take a commanding 18-5 lead heading into the final frame
• The Valiants started the final quarter, scoring the first three goals over the first six minutes of play, pulling the game within 10 goals 
• Over the final nine minutes of regulation, St. Joseph's outscored Manhattanville 2-0, with Gentile finding the back of the net a final two times to help the Golden Eagles secure the victory
