How it happened:

• The Golden Eagles took an early lead, scoring three goals in the first six minutes of play, with Doyle, Lange, and Gentile all finding the back of the net
• SJLI would score two more goals to end the first quarter to take control of the game and hold a 5-0 advantage
• St. Joseph's would again hold Old Westbury scoreless in the second quarter, scoring four goals in the quarter, taking a 9-0 lead to the second half
• The Golden Eagles would score three goals at the start of the third quarter, as they would add to their scoring run, scoring 12 straight unanswered
• The Panthers would find the back of the net for their first goal of the game with 5:38 left in the third quarter to make the score 12-1
• Ippolito would find the back of the net with just under two minutes left in the third as the Golden Eagles took a 12-goal lead heading into the final quarter
• St. Joseph's would score four straight in the final quarter, holding Old Westbury off the scoreboard as SJLI captured a 17-1 victory
