How it happened:

• The Golden Eagles pulled ahead early, scoring the first three goals of the game as Stubba, Henderson, and Gavin Trezza all found the back of the net in the first four minutes of action
• Purchase put an end to SJLI's scoring run just two minutes after their third goal to cut the deficit to just two, before finding the back of the net again with 49 seconds left in the quarter 
• The second quarter saw a stalemate between both teams before the Panthers scored the first and only goal of the quarter at the 4:36 mark to tie the game at three
• Herrera scored the first goal of the second half to break the tie and pull St. Joseph's ahead by one before Cioffi scored his first goal of the game, adding to the SJLI lead (5-3) at the 8:44 mark
• The Panthers would answer back with a goal of their own later in the quarter, but in the final minutes of the third quarter, Herrera and Cioffi each netted another goal, propelling the Golden Eagles ahead 7-4 heading into the final quarter
• Purchase held St. Joseph's off the scoreboard for the first seven minutes of action in the final frame while scoring two goals of their own to make it a one-score game (7-6) with 8:25 left to play
• The Golden Eagles would go on a 3-0 scoring run to close out the game as Henderson, Allen, and Owenburg all scored to help SJLI secure its first conference victory
