Sierra and Spina Dubbed Women's Basketball All-Conference Second Team

New York, NY| Senior Isabella Sierra and junior Megan Spina of the St. Joseph's University-New York (L.I.) women's basketball team were named to the Skyline All-Conference Second-Team as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.

 

Sierra, a force on both sides of the court, finished among conference leaders with 260 points averaging 10.4 points per game with a Skyline-best 75 steals, and 3.0 steals per game. She knocked down a team-high 42 three-point baskets while grabbing 122 rebounds and dished 54 assists. The senior put up double-digit points in 11 games with her season-best 23 (6-for-11) coming against conference leaders USMMA. 

 

Spina led the Golden Eagles and is among the conference leaders with 315 total points averaging 12.6 points per game. She grabbed a team-best 177 rebounds, averaging 7.1 rebounds per game good for seventh in the conference. The junior totaled 63 assists, 46 steals, and 10 blocks. The Selden, NY native finished in double-digit points in 19 games this season with a team-best five double-doubles.

 

The #5-seeded Golden Eagles with travel to take on the #4-seeded Farmingdale State College in the Skyline Conference First Round on Tuesday, February 25th at 5:30 pm.
