New York, NY| Two members of the St. Joseph's University (L.I.) women's lacrosse team earned Skyline All-Conference honors as announced on Monday afternoon.
Junior Megan Spina took home First-Team honors, and junior Juliana Gentile landed on the Second-Team.
Additionally, freshman Catherine Pirato was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
Spina leads the Golden Eagles and is second in the Skyline with averaging 2.11 caused turnovers per game. The defender also ranks among conference leaders, averaging 2.89 ground balls and 3.22 draw controls per game. She currently has totaled 29 draw controls, 26 ground balls, 19 caused turnovers, two goals, and an assist. On April 21st she was named Skyline Conference Player of the Week.
Gentile has patrolled the SJLI midfield in all 10 games this season, recording 19 points on 12 goals and seven assists. She is just behind Spina with 17 caused turnovers and has posted 22 draw controls and 13 ground balls.
The Golden Eagles enter the Skyline Conference Championship as the fourth seed and will host fifth-seeded Mt. St. Mary College in the First Round at Danzi Stadium on Monday, April 28th at 5:30 pm.
