SKYLINE RELEASE

New York, NY| The St. Joseph's University, New York (L.I.) softball team earned three Skyline Softball All-Conference honors when the conference released its end-of-season awards on Wednesday afternoon.

 

Juniors Brooke Bove and Antonia Busa, and sophomore Jackie Flannery all garnered second-team honors.

 

Additionally, senior Mariah Salvatto was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

 

Bove posted a .375 batting average with a .500 slugging and a .437 on-base percentage. The second baseman recorded 33 hits, including four doubles and two triples. The junior knocked in 19 runs while scoring 23 and was 4-for-5 in stolen bases.

 

Busa, a three-time All-Conference selection, finished the season hitting .367 with a .544 slugging percentage. The junior posted 33 hits with eight doubles and four triples. She finished second on the team with 28 RBIs and 28 runs scored

 

Flannery led the Golden Eagles with a .417 batting average, and her 52 hits were good for second in the Skyline. The outfielder recorded 36 runs, 18 RBIs, and was a perfect 17-for-17 in stolen bases.

 

St. Joseph's finished the regular season at 18-16 overall with a 10-8 record in Skyline action. The Golden Eagles earned the #5 seed in the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament and will face #4 Mt. St. Mary College at home on Wednesday, May 7th at 4:30 pm.
